This document describes how SteelPaws ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information about visitors to steelpaws.net and customers who purchase from us. We operate from Melbourne, Australia, and we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups. When you submit your email address through our footer form ("The Index — Vol. 02 dispatch"), we currently store that email locally in your browser until our newsletter provider is wired up. Once that change ships to production we will store it with our provider for the sole purpose of sending product dispatches.
- Contact emails. If you email us at hello@steelpaws.net, we receive your name, email, and the contents of your message in our regular inbox.
- Cart contents. Items you add to your cart are stored in your browser's local storage under
STEELPAWS_CART_V1. This data does not leave your device.
What we don't collect (yet)
- We do not currently use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not run third-party scripts that profile you.
- We do not currently process payments. Once payment integration is live, payment information will be handled directly by our payment processor; we will never see or store full card numbers.
How we use the information
- Newsletter emails are used only to send the dispatches you signed up for.
- Contact emails are used only to respond to your inquiry.
- Cart contents are used to remember what you've added between page visits in the same browser.
Who we share it with
Currently: nobody. We do not sell, trade, or transfer your information.
When third-party providers (newsletter, payments, analytics) are integrated, this section will list them with the data each one receives.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact emails: as long as the inquiry remains active or relevant.
- Cart contents: until you clear your browser storage.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it if it's wrong.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Withdraw consent for newsletter dispatch at any time.
Send any such request to hello@steelpaws.net and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data practices change — for example, when we integrate a payment provider or analytics. The "Last updated" date at the top will move accordingly.
